Zinnia Kaleidoscope
Zinnia Kaleidoscope
A combination of two favorite flowers, the wild Queen Anne's Lace, a delicate white and green flower, is put with the hardy, thick red blooms of cultivated Zinnias. From the arrangement of the flowers themselves, an eighth of the circle drawing is made. The precise design is repeated seven more times for the full circle. The kaleidoscope effect is from the artist, who is painting what a fractured mirrored image does. The circular form is rendered over and over by colors and textures, turning the realistic drawing into an abstract study of the flowers and the circles made by their color and details.
