This day lily flower is well adapted to the Missouri climate and through several spectacular gardens, became the inspiration for this series of Orange, Purple, Pink, and Yellow. The petals of this lily are finer and thinner than its more triangular relatives of the group. It has a spider's extension through its spiked green leaves giving the flower an open sunlight shape. This yellow is a certain shade of morning yellow, full of white and greens. The Day lily series is superb as a group, since each of the four match and contrast so well.
