Sycamore at Maramec
Sycamore at Maramec
Maramec Springs is the reason that our region was settled in the 1820s. We are thankful that it is now is a public park, just 6 miles from our town. It is one of the most beautiful waterways in the Ozarks. This great Sycamore is on the branch near the best fishing hole in the central part of the park. It is a tree familiar to all trout fishermen and since this painting has lost the entire lower branch in a storm. The painting is a tribute to the great sycamores that line the banks and have grown into mighty beacons.
