Current River
Current River
Said to be the most pristine waterway in the Americas, the Current River in southern Missouri is a wildly popular recreational river, set in a sparsely populated area of staggering beauty. This painting shows the crystal clear water running at full flow through the woods. The sparkling movement of the water is rushing toward one of the many riffles of gravel and rocks, evoking almost the sound of the running stream. No less that seventeen springs fill the Current and its freshness is evident in the full summer green of the surrounding landscape.
