On the west side of Acorn Woods, the seventy acre plot of the land where Mary Lou lives and paints, is a pond surrounded by reeds. The winter after her husband's death was the time of this painting, both a tribute and a memory. All snow is blue, and all whites in watercolor are plain paper.
