Art's Pond
Art's Pond
On the west side of Acorn Woods, the seventy acre plot of the land where Mary Lou lives and paints, is a pond surrounded by reeds. The winter after her husband's death was the time of this painting, both a tribute and a memory. All snow is blue, and all whites in watercolor are plain paper. The skill in painting in this medium is the ability to leave white paper and draw in details to illustrate the subject. Snow themes are a trademark in her work and this water reflection is deeply personal and dear.
